My name is Javier Máximo Castelli. I was born in 1967 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the city where I currently reside.
Father of Jerónimo and Rosario.
I am the second of four children of Mario Castelli and Celia Ruiz. My father was a renowned pharmacist, deeply involved in politics within his profession and a passionate defender of his ideas and principles. My mother was an extraordinary woman with a deep love for literature and music.
Although the last 26 years of my working life were spent within multinational corporations, where my artistic side remained hidden, I always had an interest in the visual arts. This is how Máximo Ruiz was born, my alter ego and tribute to “Don Máximo,” who was my maternal grandfather, the family side from which I undoubtedly inherited my interest in art.
From the need to give my life a new meaning, more in line with my interests, I embarked on this adventure of sharing my way of seeing the world through my art. In recent years, I’ve taken several photography courses, both analog and digital, training that will surely help enhance my creations.
I know that every capture I take freezes a moment in history that is unrepeatable. Based on this concept of uniqueness, my “collections” are made up of unique and exclusive works, with no mass-produced copies. My compositions are conceived as original works.
On the other hand, and focused on generating greater awareness of the message I try to convey through my art, and perhaps targeting collectors who are just starting out in the art world, I’m developing a series of “serial prints.”
These works are limited-edition prints and meet the same quality standards as the “collections,” but in this case, smaller and unframed, making them more accessible, not only from an economic perspective but also in terms of logistics and handling.
Anyone who owns one of my works knows they have something exceptional in their hands. Letting go of each of them is like letting go of a part of me. However, if I manage to generate in the person who purchases it an emotion similar to the one that motivated me to do it, the objective is achieved and this separation will be worth it.
