Sharing the contemplation of breaking waves with a witness—in this case, a bird—was what led me to capture this image.
Although our motivations may have been different, finding ourselves in that same instant and in that same place, observing the same scene, felt significant to me—worthy of being recorded.
“Witness” is part of the “Waves” collection, a group of 12 works that seek to capture different moments, thoughts, and sensations arising from the simple observation of moving water — something that for many may appear to be nothing more than a repeated gesture of nature.
